Boquete Canyon Village Landscaping Part 2

Here we look at the work we undertook at the Boquete Canyon Village Club House to improve the landscaping. This particular post directly follows on from Boquete Canyon Village Club House Landscaping Part One

In the Boquete Canyon Village Club House Landscaping Part One post, we finished by looking at the new stone wall we were building across the front. The same style of wall was carried on up the side of the main open space, to form part of a future flowerbed that would border the existing car park.

Behind the main front wall, we added in a french drain with a perforated pipe. This installed to help drainage. This area experiences torrential downpours in the wet season.

We bought in and began to install palm trees along the front. A backhoe was used to dig deep holes and fill them with good soil. The trees themselves also had to be placed by the backhoe because of their size. Out workers tied ropes to steady the tree and help with the installation.

We installed a number of different palms along the front of the new gardens

Adding the palm trees made a big difference to the look of the garden.

The cuban palms added another dimension to the trees. The cubans provide lower branches as well as higher foliage

We started to bring in the top soil that would now cover the entire garden and would be mostly topped by grass

The soil was excellent and was necessary given the existing 'soil' is mostly rock with a bit of dirt.

Whilst the soil was being bought in and levelled, we began putting down the rock pathways.

With the soil laid out, and the pathways beginning to be installed, the vision was beginning to take shape.

We added some cuban palms at the back of the garden as well to help break up a large, uninspiring wall.
